The company’s origins date back to 1989 when Marc Mahieu establishes his one-man business. Hardly one year later he needs to expand his activities and starts working with his own construction group. In the mean time, he strongly invests in powerful equipment and in well-performing machinery such as a crane (PPM 20ton), a hydraulic platform (Merlo & Genie Boom), a plotter, etc.

In 1994 bvba MAHIEU METAALBOUW is established and in 1996 the company has 10 employees. Very quickly there are 15 employees working in 2 shifts. Engineers and draughtsmen join the office and sophisticated plotters are purchased.

In 2000 the industrial buildings are extended and the staff increases to 40 people. The strong growth requires further investments such as through the purchase of a powerful drilling and splitting machine (Vernet FP 800, equipped to handle HEA 800 beams) and of entirely CNC-driven machinery. And as it comes to designing, neither expense nor effort is spared.  

In 2006 the MAHIEU company takes a new step and establishes Mahieu Concrete. From that time the company itself organises research, elaboration and realisation of concrete constructions. Considering the acquired experience and the know-how this is a logical step within the full-service philosophy of the MAHIEU group.
